Winterthur Dance Festival 2024

In the Archive meets Artist discussion format, the SAPA Foundation presents trouvailles from its holdings and links them to current discourses.
This year, the focus is on the profession of dancer. Marthe Krummenacher from Geneva discusses her experiences with Julia Wehren and comments on film footage from her early days. Her impressive career began in 1992 with the Ballet Junior in Geneva. After engagements at the Nederlands Dans Theater NDT2 in The Hague and the Forsythe Company in Frankfurt, she returned to Geneva in 2009 and worked with Noemi Lapzeson, Cindy Van Acker and many others. In 2017, she won the Swiss Cultural Prize of the Federal Office of Culture as Outstanding Dancer.
How does she look back on her various roles? How does she experience the profession of dancer today?
