11 000 new entries on Swiss productions published in Wikidata
In the first half of 2024, more than 11 000 new entries on productions in the Swiss performing arts were created in Wikidata. This was made possible by a partnership established in 2023 between the SAPA Foundation, Swiss Archive of the Performing Arts and the association Wikimedia CH. This represents just under 20 percent of the productions documented by the Foundation – a first milestone in the collaboration between the two organisations.
For this first step, five Swiss institutions were selected:
- Stadttheater Basel (coverage period 1834–1968): 7 861 productions.
- Schauspielhaus Zurich (coverage period 1921–>): 2 550 productions.
- Theatre de Vidy, Lausanne (coverage period 1989–>): 766 productions.
- Théâtre de Carouge - Atelier de Genève (coverage period 1958–>): 664 productions.
- Teatro Sociale Bellinzona: 64 productions.
