11 000 new entries on Swiss productions published in Wikidata
In the first half of 2024, more than 11,000 new entries on Swiss performing arts productions were created in Wikidata. This was made possible by a partnership established in 2023 between the SAPA Foundation, Swiss Performing Arts Archive, and the Wikimedia CH association. This represents almost 20 percent of all productions documented by the foundation – a first milestone in the collaboration between the two organizations.
For this first step, five Swiss institutions were selected:
- Stadttheater Basel (coverage period 1834–1968): 7 861 productions.
- Schauspielhaus Zurich (coverage period 1921–>): 2 550 productions.
- Theatre de Vidy, Lausanne (coverage period 1989–>): 766 productions.
- Théâtre de Carouge - Atelier de Genève (coverage period 1958–>): 664 productions.
- Teatro Sociale Bellinzona: 64 productions.
