A digital application for accessing audiovisual interviews

Dr. Ursula Pellaton  (born 1946) is a walking encyclopaedia of Swiss dance history. Her passion for dance was ignited in 1963 by a performance of Giselle in Zurich. This marked the beginning of her long-standing commitment to dance, which she has pursued ever since, including as a journalist and historian.

In collaboration with the Institute of Digital Communication Environments (IDCE) at the Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst, Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz, the SAPA Foundation developed a digital application that makes audiovisual interviews accessible and enables targeted browsing by topics of interest. The topics addressed in the interviews are linked, via SAPA’s database, to further materials from its holdings. By connecting additional databases, further knowledge relating to the topics covered is also made accessible.

The project was funded by the programme Cultural Heritage Dance of the Federal Office of Culture.
