National dance inventory (2020-2025)

The National Dance Inventory provides an overview of holdings available in Switzerland and offers detailed information on locations and institutions that house archives on the history of dance in Switzerland.

As a reference institution, the SAPA Foundation, through this project, establishes the conditions for the lasting preservation and dissemination of Switzerland’s rich dance heritage.

• or by the name of the archival holding or collection.

Individual entries contain the following information:

• by place name - name and address of the institution, description of holdings and collections, further information, link to the institution’s website;
• by name - name of the holding or collection, status, further information, reference code, link to the website, and the name and address of the institution.

At the European level, we would like to draw your attention to the three-year EU project DanceMap. This research initiative aims to develop a sustainable, cross-border strategy for preserving and promoting the intangible cultural heritage of dance.
