National dance inventory (2020-2025)

The National Dance Inventory provides an overview of the holdings available in Switzerland and provides detailed information on locations and institutions that house archives on the history of dance in Switzerland.

As a reference institution, the SAPA Foundation is using this project to create the conditions for the long-term preservation and communication of the rich cultural heritage of dance in Switzerland.

The individual entries contain the following information:

• By place name: Name and address of the institution, description of the holdings and collections, further information, link to the institution's website.
• By name: Name of the fonds or collection, status, further information, shelfmark, link to the website and name and address of the institution.

At European level, we would like to draw your attention to the three-year EU project DanceMap. The aim of this research initiative is to develop a sustainable cross-border strategy for the preservation and promotion of the intangible cultural heritage of dance.
