Digital archive (2022-2025)

The Digital Archive project comprises the acquisition of digital ingest software for processing digital archival material and the connection to an external cloud infrastructure for the long-term storage of data.
The new infrastructure enables SAPA to continue to fulfil its mission as an archive and centre of expertise and to make an essential, forward-looking contribution to preserving the cultural heritage of the performing arts in the digital age. As SAPA places a particular emphasis on folk culture and maintains a Europe-wide unique documentation of folk theatre stages, the project primarily fosters exchange among artists, cultural mediators and audiences. The project thus benefits various user groups, including cultural practitioners, archive users and other archival institutions.
This project was made possible through the generous support of:
Loterie Romande, Canton of Berne, Canton of Zurich, City of Zurich, Boner Stiftung für Kunst und Kultur, Emil und Rosa Richterich-Beck Stiftung, Georg und Bertha Schwyzer-Winiker Stiftung
