After his first experiences in figure skating, Lüdin began his dance lessons with Herta Gindl in Bern. This was followed by studies with renowned personalities such as Rosalia Chladek, Victor Gsovsky, Betty Jones, José Limon and Antony Tudor in Vienna, Paris, Stockholm and New York.
From 1963 to 1968, Lüdin was a member of the José Limon Dance Company, with which he toured internationally and created formative roles in numerous Limon choreographies. He was also a member of the American Dance Theatre at the Lincoln Center in New York. Together with Betty Jones, he founded the duo company Dances We Dance and the Jones-Lüdin Dance Center in Hawaii, where he now lives.
