Kasics Ursula

Ursula Kasics completed her training as a dancer and dance educator at the Palucca School in Dresden. She subsequently worked as a teacher of modern dance and dance gymnastics at the Folkwang School in Essen and danced at the Bern City Theatre. In Zurich, she opened her own dance and gymnastics studio and began training dance educators (later renamed the Vocational School for Dance and Gymnastics). Her teaching was influenced by Rosalia Chladek.

For over 15 years, as President of the Swiss Professional Association for Dance and Gymnastics, Kasics shaped the development of the profession, developed guidelines for the professional training of gymnastics teachers, and campaigned passionately to improve the working conditions of dancers in Switzerland. She is the co-editor of Bewegungen. Tanz und Gymnastik in der Schweiz 1939–1989. Dokumentation zum 50-jährigen Bestehen des SBTG (1989).
