SAPA conducts narrative interviews with individuals who have shaped Swiss performing arts over a long period. These follow a three-stage interview process:

Prompted by an opening question, the interviewees’ own narratives are the initial focus. In a second phase, we ask follow-up questions, and finally an open, topic-guided interview complements the exchange.

With the interviewees’ consent, the interviews are recorded audiovisually, transcribed and enriched with metadata. Taken together, the conversations show how diverse the performing arts – and the associated life and work stories – are. Selected video portraits provide an insight.
