Special Internship: Database and Archival Informatics

You will gain insight into the archival informatics of the SAPA Foundation and contribute to the implementation of the new standards, Records in Contexts (RiC). The SAPA Foundation is gradually making information on its archival holdings relating to the performing arts available as Linked Open Data in the database performing-arts.ch . During the internship, you will work alongside the Head of Archival Informatics.
We offer a varied internship with scope for individual initiative in a dynamic, forward-looking archive. The workplace is located directly next to Bern railway station. A modest internship salary is paid.
Duties
- Familiarisation with SAPA’s archival information systems and support with digital ingest
- Support with administrative tasks
- If interested, insight into our offices in Lausanne and Zurich
Requirements
The internship is aimed at students of theatre and dance studies, or a related humanities discipline, and digital humanities. Prerequisites include an interest in documentary and analytical processes as well as audiovisual and digital media carriers. You are reliable, work with precision, and have good German language skills, spoken and written. You are not deterred by repetitive tasks, and you enjoy working in a multilingual (German/French) environment and in a small, motivated team.
