Special Internship: Oral History

Since 2012, the SAPA Foundation has been building a collection of oral history interviews with Swiss dance and theatre practitioners. During the internship, you will accompany an oral history process from research through to preparation and transcription of the interviews, gaining in-depth insight into the methodology.
We offer a varied internship with scope for individual initiative in a dynamic, forward-looking archive. The workplace is located directly next to Bern railway station. A modest internship salary is paid.
Duties
- Researching and recording data to prepare interviews
- Contributing to the transcription of audiovisually recorded interviews
- Contributing to the preparation and cataloguing of interviews
- Support with administrative tasks
Requirements
The internship is aimed at students of theatre and dance studies, or a related humanities discipline, and at various study fields within the performing arts. Prerequisites include good knowledge of the Swiss theatre and dance scene, and an interest in research activities and documentary processes. You are communicative, reliable, and work with precision. You possess good German language skills, spoken and written, and enjoy working in a multilingual (German/French) environment and in a small, motivated team.
