Paulina Müller received her first modern dance lessons in Paris, with Nora Kiss among others. She completed her professional training in modern dance at the Harald Kreutzberg Dance Academy, supplemented by ballet lessons with Hilde Baumann. She took part in the SBTG summer courses with Mary Wigman, Sigurd Leeder and Rosalia Chladek and worked as an assistant at Tanz Studio Alain Bernard.

Through her travels to Yugoslavia, Paulina Müller specialized in Eastern European folklore, in particular the dances of the Balkans. She founded her own dance school for modern, jazz and folklore in Bern. In 1962, she founded the Balkanija folklore group.

For more than three decades, Paulina Müller and her folk dance group made their mark on numerous performances. Thanks to her extensive knowledge of dance steps, music, language and traditions, she became the most important exponent of Balkan folklore in Switzerland.
