Meier Yolanda

Jolanda Meier received her first dance lessons in her home town of Basel at the ballet school of the Stadttheater Basel. She completed her professional training at the Academy for Artistic Dance in Vienna. This was followed by further training at the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance, the American Ballet Theatre School and the Robert Joffrey Ballet School. She has worked as a dancer in London, Paris and for four years at the Wuppertal Tanztheater with Pina Bausch.

After her return to Switzerland, Jolanda Meier choreographed for the ballet at the Basel theaters and for Jean Deroc's chamber ballet, among others. She also founded her own group, the Yolanda Meier Tanztheater. She has taught in France and Switzerland.

Jolanda Meier has lived in Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic since 1994.
