Josiane Cuche

Josiane Cuche is a dancer and teacher. In 1980, together with her husband François Nyffeler, she founded the JC Équilibre dance school in a former gymnasium in the Évole district of Neuchâtel. In 1996, alongside Georges Zahatchenko, they established the Association Danse Neuchâtel (ADN), whose activities began at their JC ÉQUILIBRE dance school. The venue was later renamed ESPACE DANSE and used for dance performances.
In 2003, they launched a summer festival held outside their own premises. This was followed by the Hiver de danses festival in 2011. Over time, ADN developed into a platform for exchange. Between 1996 and 2016, no fewer than 250 companies performed there, alongside numerous workshops.
Without this couple's boundless passion, dance would likely have vanished from Neuchâtel's cultural life. They love this art form above all else and spared neither time nor financial resources to keep it alive in Neuchâtel.
