Journées du Matrimoine 2024
The Journées du Matrimoine are taking place in Lausanne for the first time. Organized by the Sujettes association, this event aims to (re)highlight and enhance the historical and contemporary heritage of women and minorities in art, culture and society.
To mark the occasion, SAPA is delighted to be hosting and participating in two program items on Friday, 20 September.
CONFERENCE "ALL THE SPOTLIGHTS ON WOMEN ON STAGE"

The long road to visibility and positions of responsibility for women in the theater is a struggle that has spanned several centuries.
The conference offers a historical insight into the role and position of women in the world of theater - as performers, authors, directors - and sheds light on the challenges they had to face in order to express and develop themselves artistically. It also shows how historical distance has led to a distorted perception: Women who were active, well-known and recognized in their time often fell into oblivion later on or became invisible because their achievements were not sufficiently acknowledged or documented.
The rediscovery of these women artists, their struggles and achievements can enrich and inspire today's artists and audiences.
EDITATHON "WOMEN ON THE STAGE"
In the afternoon, SAPA, together with Wikimedia CH and the "les sans pagEs" initiative, is hosting an editathon on women on stage.
Only 19% of biographical articles on Wikipedia are dedicated to women. Learn how you can contribute to Wikipedia to make Swiss theater and dance professionals visible and thus reduce inequalities in the online encyclopedia. With the support of SAPA, we are writing biographies of female directors, dancers, choreographers and other artists.
